11 October 2011
Today (11 October, 2011) adidas brand icon Haile Gebrselassie handed over the official 2010 FIFA World Cup™ final match ball to 46664, to symbolise the value of adidas’ fundraising efforts that will contribute to a lasting legacy of the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ in South Africa.
In 2010, adidas embarked on a campaign entitled Unite Mzansi Unite (UMU) aimed at uniting the people of South Africa in celebration and pride behind the first African World Cup. The adidas UMU campaign was created to inspire the world to celebrate diversity in unity while raising funds for the 46664 campaign and contribute to long-term projects that will leave a lasting legacy long after the implementation of the 2010 FIFA World Cup™.
