adidas and 46664 celebrate diversity and unity in South Africa

Today adidas brand icon Haile Gebrselassie handed over the official 2010 FIFA World Cup™ final match ball to 46664 to symbolise the value of adidas’ fundraising efforts that will contribute to a lasting legacy of the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ in South Africa.
In 2010, adidas embarked on a campaign entitled Unite Mzansi Unite (UMU) aimed at uniting the people of South Africa in celebration and pride behind the first African World Cup. The adidas UMU campaign was created to inspire the world to celebrate diversity in unity while raising funds for the 46664 campaign and contribute to long-term projects that will leave a lasting legacy long after the implementation of the 2010 FIFA World Cup™.

In recent years, 46664 has transformed its social mobilisation model and expanded its focus to ensure wider participation and a broader beneficiary base.
In keeping with this expansion trend, the organisation has announcend the establishment of partnerships with a number of commercial and social profit entities. Through these partnerships, 46664 aims to become a sustainable fundraising vehicle that does not depend solely on philanthropy.
