Abdel Wright

Statement

"I got involved with 46664 through musical interaction with Dave Stewart and Bono – it ignited by my social commentary strength, which has a global effect.”

About

Abdel performed at the 2003 Cape Town concert where Bono said Abdel was “the most important Jamaican artist since Bob Marley”. Eschewing Jamaica’s prevalent dancehall styles for a more acoustic approach, which centres on roots and cultural themes, Wright's music is distinctly Jamaican, but also has a universal pop and folk-rock feel.
